1981 Piper PA-31T1 Cheyenne I
Description
The Piper PA-31T1 Cheyenne I is a single-engine turboprop aircraft produced by Piper Aircraft. It was designed as an improved version of the PA-31 Navajo, with a more powerful engine, increased fuel capacity, and improved avionics. The Cheyenne I was introduced in 1977 and remained in production until 1982. It was an instant success and over 400 were built. The Cheyenne I is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-114 turboprop engine, which gives it a maximum speed of 260 knots, a range of 1,400 miles, and a service ceiling of 25,000 feet. The Cheyenne I is capable of carrying up to eight passengers and has a maximum takeoff weight of 8,000 pounds. The Cheyenne I is still in use today, mostly in the United States, and continues to be a popular choice for executive and private air travel.
