1974 Hughes 500C
Description
The Hughes 500C is a two-bladed, single-engine light helicopter built by Hughes Helicopters. It is a variant of the Hughes OH-6 Cayuse/Loach. It is an improved version of the OH-6A and features a more powerful engine, a larger cabin, and increased performance. The aircraft is mainly used for utility and observation purposes. It is powered by an Allison 250-C20B turboshaft engine, which produces 420 shp (313 kW). It has a maximum speed of 140 mph (225 km/h) and a range of 400 miles (644 km). The aircraft can carry a payload of up to 1,000 lbs (454 kg). It can be fitted with various armaments, such as rockets, gun pods, and grenade launchers.
